Let’s all welcome Anakin as the new Dog of the Month! Anakin is a liver-loving Labradoodle living in Skokie, IL and yes, he got his name from Star Wars. Anakin’s mom, Holly, used to have a crush on Anakin Skywalker when she was little…before he turned bad. And Holly’s dad is a bit of a Star Wars fan so she surprised him by giving her new pup the name Anakin! Cute!
Ani, a nickname for Anakin, loves his ball, playing fetch, hiking, running and walking with mom. He also loves to camp. One time on a camping trip he started to chase a black bear! Luckily his mom trained Ani so well that she was able to recall him away from the bear. That was a close one!
Anakin’s mom is the Director of Suburban K9, a dog training company with over 15 locations across the United States with one right here in Chicago since 2006 – no wonder Anakin has been trained so well! Jinks, also known as Anakin, comes to work with mom almost everyday! Jinky Stinks gets to help out during appointments, show off his obedience and socialize. When Anakin is staying active, which is pretty much all the time, he loves to keep his paws safe with Lavasox in Marina Blue! With the hot summer days coming, the asphalt surface temperature can get up to 130 degrees when it is only 85 degrees outside. To avoid burning his paw pads, he keeps his booties on. During the frigid Chicago winters, he keeps his paws warm and protected from frostbite with Ice Fire Red Saltsox.
